“Cairo Oasis”
+Hard to believe from the outside but once inside it was like a palace. Beautiful decor. Air-conditioning in all rooms, cold water station, brilliant location in my favourite part of Cairo.
−I was recovering from a heart attack so lack of elevator was a problem. 5th floor. I dreaded those stairs by the end of our stay.

“A decent place to stay in the heart of Cairo.”
+This apartment is located in the heart of downtown Cairo. We arrived quite late, yet our host gave us a very warm welcome and helped carry our luggage up to the apartment floor. I’m so grateful that the Saddam has preserved the original character of this place, giving us the chance to stay in such a beautiful apartment. I have only uploaded one photo of the apartment because I hope you can come and experience its charm for yourself.

“Classic Style in the Heart of Cairo”
+Fantastic location! Super safe downtown area with lots of teashops, restaurants and cafes close by. The property itself is full of charm, beautifully decorated, and has windows that open up to the action outside. The hosts are really pleasant and quick to communicate. They even gifted us a feteer (Egyptian pizza) that was welcome after 12 hours on the road.
−The only thing I'd mention was that for the time of year we visited (early May) there were tons of mosquitoes at night, so a mosquito net above the bed might make a good addition for comfort when sleeping.

+A remarkable, old Cairo apartment. Very well furnished in colonial-period style (the former owner was an English journalist, who clearly bought into the expat experience), and it was a dream to stay here. There could have been more pots and pans in the kitchen, the water pressure was very variable, and the lift is long gone (lots of stairs, in a dilapidated building) - but everything is forgivable when the flat is so magnificent. It's on the fourth floor corner, with three small balconies, and good city views. The block is on a relatively quiet street, but only a stone's throw from all the bustle. Tea, coffee and breakfast can be bought on the street outside for local prices (there's a very busy fuul car on the street opposite the kitchen window which does breakfast for a few (English) pence). We'd go back in a shot, if returning to Cairo, and were sad to leave after four nights. A special mention should be made for the owner, Saddam, who made himself available for our crazy 3:30am check-in, and did so with a warm welcome. He was very helpful throughout.
−The kitchen could be better equipped, and some of the crockery could do with a wash. The water pump is a bit noisy when you run the tap.

+Просто потрясающая квартира в самом центре города! В Каире мы не в первых раз, и эта поездка стала для нас одной из лучших именно благодаря этому месту проживания. Красота начинается уже с фасада дома и чудесной старинной лестницы с витражными окнами. Сама квартира оказалась просторнее, чем мы ожидали: две королевские спальни, кабинет со спальным местом, очаровательная кухня-столовая, гостиная с диванами, две очень удобные ванные комнаты, и самое главное - четыре балкона, выходящие в разные стороны дома (квартира угловая). Это верхний этаж, поэтому с балконов открываются просто фантастические виды. Роскошная старинная мебель, множество мелочей декора, картины, архивные фото, книги! При этом мы чувствовали себя как дома - пространство обжито и очень уютно. Кухня очень комфортная, оборудована всем необходимым и даже больше. Комфорт сочетается с удивительной кинематографичностью места. Огромное спасибо хозяевам квартиры за то что с таким вкусом и любовью создали и сохранили это пространство! Это не просто место для ночевки, а удивительный опыт соприкосновения с историей такого разного, многогранного и прекрасного Каира! Обязательно вернемся.
